2 More Schools Offering Bible History

Thanks to increased commitments from the Chattanooga community, Bible teachers have been placed in two schools in the 2011-2012 academic year where access to Bible history had not been available.

• Mr. Anthony Pollard is now teaching at Brainerd High School.
  
  
• Mr. William Heard is now teaching at Tyner Academy.

To fund Mr. Pollard’s position at Brainerd High School, 15 Brainerd-area churches of various denominations gathered for a community meal on October 2, 2011, to pray for the students and raise money so that all 800 students at Brainerd High School would have access to Bible history classes.

Funding for Mr. Heard’s position at Tyner Academy was made possible by a similar gathering of 13 East Hamilton churches in 2010. They gathered to fund a teacher not only for their own students at East Hamilton High School, but also for their neighbors at Tyner Academy. This generous gift will have far-reaching implications, as another community of students has the opportunity to study the world’s most influential book.
 
This brings the total number to 16 qualified and certified teachers of Bible history in 19 schools across Hamilton County.
