Educators that endorse allowing public school students to study the Bible
Benjamin Rush, one of our founding fathers, was called the "Father of Public Education." Dr. Rush believed that free, public education should be available for every young boy and girl.
In writing A Defense of the Use of the Bible in Public Schools, he states,
[The] Bible, when not read in schools, is seldom read in any subsequent period of life . . .. [It] should be read in our schools in preference to all other books from its containing the greatest portion of that kind of knowledge which is calculated to produce private and public temporal happiness.
If you are or have been an educator and you support the study of the Bible in our public schools, we invite you to join the Benjamin Rush Society to demonstrate your enthusiasm for Enriching the next generation with the truth and knowledge of the Bible. (No donation is required.)
